Suffer From Back Pain? Eat This...

Lower back pain SUCKS, doesn't it?

One minute you're brushing your teeth and then as you bend over to spit and you feel that familiar excruciating pain shoot through your lower back like a red hot poker!

10 years of humping a ruck in the Army has shot my back all to hell and one wrong move sometimes can mean the difference between heading to the gym...

...or heading to the DOCTOR!

But recently I've been doing all I can to not just "treat" back pain...but PREVENT IT!

One of the things I'VE discovered is the power of FOOD in getting rid of my back pain.

I never really realized that what I EAT can make a difference in how my back feels on a daily basis.

Here's just ONE EXAMPLE of...

A "SUPER FOOD" That Eliminates Back Pain...

Pain in your back (it's MY lower back that I have problems with) is aggravated by inflammation of the joints.

I recently read a book called Back Pain Diet Secrets (www.BackPainDietSecrets.com) that shows step-by-step how you can actually CURE back pain just by eliminating certain foods from your diet while adding a few others.

For example...

Salmon is rich in omega-3 fatty acids.

Omega 3's REDUCE inflammation and since problems like bulged discs (my L4-L5 are toast!) cause the body to naturally respond with inflammation, adding more salmon to your diet will help to relieve the back pain.

I have to admit that I'm not a big fan of the taste of salmon.

Like some strung out pusher, you head off to the gym, day after day, to slap your muscles around as they beg for another "fix" of protein.

Rep after rep, workout after workout, you tear them apart and instead of giving them the "good stuff", you string them out on cheap, "filler" crap you picked up out of some catalog because you thought...

As I've stated before, not all protein is the same.

Bicep Training Tip From Male Enhancement Product?


Who would have ever thought that a male enhancement device could be used to increase the size of your BICEPS?

Now wait...

Before you go ordering your own model and trying to slap it on your arms and start pumping away (at least that's how I THINK it works...I really wouldn't know...really...seriously...) let me explain how this CONCEPT works...

Supposedly (again, I really wouldn't know), the Swedish "pump" enlarges a man's penis by expanding the blood chambers that fill up during an erection.

The bigger the chambers, the bigger your erection, right?

Well, the same thing goes for your MUSCLES because as you train with HIGH VOLUME sets, your muscles fill up with blood and other fluids and this leaves you with the treasured "pump" feeling that we all love so much.

Although "some" experts preach that the pump DOESN'T actually build muscle, the fact is that it DOES increase size the same way that the Swedish Pump does (though I can't attest that it does really).

So here's a COOL TRICK I've discovered that will crank the pump factor up a few extra notches...

Bicep Training Tip For A Bigger Pump:

1. First, you want to hit your arms with a few sets of HIGH VOLUME reps.

We're talking around 12-15, but if you're using my Advanced Mass Building program, this technique is PERFECT for Weeks 1 and 3 of your 4-week cycle!

2. IMMEDIATELY after you're done with your last "pump" set for your arms, head on over to the treadmill and jump on! Don't even waste time going to get a drink at the fountain or chat with the red-headed pilates instructor! Time is of the essence!

3. Begin jogging at a moderate pace (you don't need to sprint).

4. Within about 20-30 seconds, all that increased blood flow that's hitting your already pumped up muscles will start to stretch your veins and arteries and it will feel like your muscles are about ready to explode all over the gym floor!

5. Keep it up for about 5-10 minutes and you'll have greatly increased your size potential for your arms...and you'll actually FEEL that this is true!

How To Stay Fit On Vacation - Training

I'm currently on vacation with my family in Mexico and trust me, the very LAST thing I want to be doing is 5 sets of heavy squats to stay in shape!

I'd much rather be sipping margaritas by the pool, wouldn't you?

But vacation doesn't have obliterate your fitness program. Here are 3 "training" tips to help you survive vacation with your waistline intact:

1. Work your ass off BEFORE vacation!

Your body builds muscle while you're recovering, right?

So 1-2 weeks BEFORE you head out on vacation, train really intensely in the gym. Focus on a "muscle building workout routine" because this is what's going to stimulate your metabolism the best.

Also, that week or so that you take off for vacation will actually help your body recover from your training and you may find that you've actually made PROGRESS while you were gone!

(I had one guy on my Optimum Anabolics program who went away for two weeks on vacation following a "Progressive Load" cycle and gained a half an inch of muscle on his arms without working out!)

2. Stay ACTIVE on vacation!

Plan activities with your friends or family that involve MOVEMENT!

Don't just sit around watching movies...plan a hike

...do some laps in the pool before getting out and ordering a pina colada

...walk up and down the beach

...do SOMETHING!

Remember, our bodies were designed to burn fat all day long because we used to be ACTIVE all day long.

Work with your body's design and you won't have to worry about getting fat on vacation.

3. For the truly dedicated (crazy?)...WORKOUT!

If you absolutely can't see yourself taking time away from your workout routine (you need help! ;-), then just do a

short training session first thing in the morning.

I like to do 5 minute cycles of jumping rope while I listen to audio books on my ipod.

5 minutes of jumping rope...drop down and do pushups...5 more minutes of jumping rope...Bodylastics side laterals...etc.

Jumpstarts my metabolism without taking a huge chunk out of my day!

How Much Protein Is "TOO MUCH" To Build Muscle?

Protein supplements are a staple in any bodybuilder's supplement arsenal.

Depending upon who you listen to, you'll get different answers for "how much protein" you should consume in order to build muscle.

Bodybuilding magazines and supplement manufacturers tell you you should consume at least "2 grams of protein per pound of body weight" because you need all that protein to recover from your workouts and increase muscle mass.

But are they blowing these dosages way out of proportion?

I mean, supplement companies who promote massive dosages (I've seen up to 5g/lb of body weight!) couldn't POSSIBLY be trying to get you to consume more of their product so you'll go and buy another tub, right?

Fact is, I've caught a LOT of hell over the years from so called "experts" for my statements in my Optimum Anabolics program where I've said that the body CAN'T use more than 20-30g per meal.

Well a recent study looked at just how much protein is "enough" and how much is "too much".

Protein Study: How Much Protein Should You Consume?

A group of highly trained athletes consumed one of five different doses following a bout of resistance exercise.

* Og: The "control" group
* 5g
* 10g
* 20g
* or 40g

Following exercise, ALL groups increased muscle-protein synthesis, but the 20g dose produced nearly DOUBLE the amount of muscle-protein synthesis than the control group!

The 40g dose was even higher, but not by all that much. Therefore, it appears that even after resistance training, your body can only USE so much protein (somewhere between 20g and 40g) and then the rest gets burned up as fuel.

Even in Optimum Anabolics, I recommend way less protein than most people take in (1.17g/lb of LEAN body weight) with about 25% of your daily protein requirement taken IMMEDIATELY after training.

By not consuming "too much" protein, your body can focus on burning FAT for fuel instead of the excess protein which is why OA is considered more of a "build and burn" bodybuilding program.

So stop overdosing on protein, will you?

Consume about 20g in 5 meals throughout the day and add a separate 30-40g serving immediately after your workouts to ensure full muscle-protein synthesis when you need it the most.

"Man boobs" (actually a condition called "gynecomastia") are caused by a hormone imbalance in the body and can affect men at any age, but particularly for guys “over 40” who are experiencing a natural reduction in testosterone and may have more estrogen due to higher levels of body fat.

Here are a couple of incredible techniques that not many guys know about...
